Why This Space Exists
when I first into the classroom, I was filled with passion – but also overwhelmed.
There were countless ideas, tools and resources… but few that truly made my day feel simpler or more meaningful.
A Modern Teacher was born from that moment
Not out of perfection, but out of a desire to create tools that bring more clarity, calm, and joy to teaching.
Teaching With Intention
This space is built on one belief:
Teaching should be intentional – not reactional
What does that mean?
- That we plan with purpose, not just to “get through the week.”
- That we use tools that support -not distract- from our values.
- That we center students and ourselves in the way we prepare, connect, and grow.
Practical, Beautiful, Shared
So much of what we do as teachers lives on messy notes, random tabs, or scraps of paper.
I wanted to change that – one thoughtfully designed resource at a time.
That’s why everything I create here follows three principles:
- Practical – It has to actually work in a real classroom.
- Beautiful – A little design joy can spark teacher motivation.
- Shareable – Teaching shouldn’t be done in isolation.
