Why Weekly Planning Matters

As teachers, we often juggle dozens of to-dos at once. Without a system, it’s easy to feel reactive instead of purposeful.

A Weekly Lesson Planner isn’t just about filling in boxes – it’s about creating space for clarity and intentional teaching.

What’s Inside the Planner

Our free planner is designed with simplicity in mind. It includes :

How to Fill it out

Here’s how I use it each Sunday:

  1. Goals
What’s my focus this week? (e.g. “Finish nonfiction unit”, “Introduce persuasive writing”)
  2. Subjects
Break down daily subject blocks – Reading, Math, Science, etc.
  3. Activities
Specific tasks, centers, or group work for each day
  4. Notes
Anything important to remember – parent calls, prep needs, supplies

💡Tip : Use highlighters or color-coded pens to track subject areas or student groups.
